Dotmod Petri Sub-Ohm Tank Review
Petri Sub-Ohm Tank by Dotmod - Staff Review:
The Petri Sub-Ohm Tank is the new benchmark sub-ohm tank from Dotmod. Measuring 22mm in diameter and entirely constructed with a 24K Gold-Plated chassis, the Petri Tank features a performance-orientated chassis with thermal insulation gasket, dual adjustable airflow, convenient top-fill design, and Dotmod Coil Technology that offers cross-compatibility with Vaporesso cCell, Atlantis, and Triton coil heads.
Features of the Petri Sub-Ohm Tank:
The Petri Sub-Ohm tank features an easy top-fill system with a 1.9ml juice capacity. The generous airflow on this atomizer is pleasing and fully adjustable to one's preference. PEEK insulators protect the tank's top cap and coil head threads providing excellent heat resistance.
One of the greatest features of this tank is its coil head compatibility giving wider coil resistance available from Aspire Atlantis, Triton, and cCell coils. These coil heads have the best compatibility with a lot of sub-ohm tanks giving greater choice and variety to the end-user.
What's included in the package:
- One Dotmod Petri Sub-Ohm Tank
- One 0.5ohm Twisted Coil (for regular vaping)
- One 0.5ohm SS 316 Coil (for temperature mode)
- Additional Glass Tank Section
- Additional Acrylic Drip Tip Sleeve
- O-Ring Pack
- Serialized certification
Petri Sub-Ohm Tank Design:
The entire metal parts of the Petri Sub-Ohm tank are made of solid brass and plated 4x with 24-karat gold to ensure durability, better electrical conduction, and of course, the 'Bling factor'. As sub-ohm tanks go, this has all the standard traits with a 510-threaded connection fully compatible with any Vape MOD's or batteries. The Dotmod Petri Sub-Ohm Tank is 22mm in diameter and is 39mm in height from base to the top without the drip tip. Both the top cap and airflow control are knurled, making it easier to grip. The only negative point is the drip tip on this tank is not the standard 510 drip tip making a choice limited unless a third-party manufacturer makes one.
Performance and Vapor Quality:
Using Dotmods' own gold plated coils seems to be the optimum. The Petri Sub-Ohm tank gives out great flavour and produces pretty decent vapour production, but it does depend on what coils you use. The tank sits flush on all the devices I fitted it on, never showing any signs of poor connection sometimes seen on other devices. The included coil heads were without a doubt the best, even with thick high VG e-liquids.
Using the Petri Sub-Ohm Tank:
The Petri Sub-Ohm tank works just like any other sub-ohm tank in the market. The coils included are rated to 35-40 watts, and it's cross-compatible with Atlantis, Triton, and Vaporesso cCell coil heads. As good practice dictates, you should always prime the coil heads with e-liquid before using them and making sure that the cotton is saturated with juice to avoid burnt cotton. Most coil heads require a break-in period to achieve their full potential of performance, and this tank is no different optimum performance is achieved after one full tank load.
The Petri Sub-Ohm tank is not just a standard tank. It's a well thought out practical solution that is recommended to all vapers from beginner to advanced. The price of this tank is slightly higher, but then you do get what you pay for, and with a limited lifetime guarantee to boot, this is definitely worth the investment.
